Port of Los Angeles Awards Facilities, Space, and Leasing Information System Contract to AssetWorks

(Wayne, PA – June 4, 2009) AssetWorks today announced that it has signed a facilities management software and implementation services contract with the Port of Los Angeles.

The Port is operated by the Harbor Department of the City of Los Angeles and is comprised of 43 miles of waterfront and approximately 7,500 acres of land and water. It operates as a “landlord” port, with private enterprise coordinating all cargo operations and other maritime-related functions under agreements with the City.

The Port selected AssetWorks to implement a Facilities, Space, and Leasing Information System to aid the Port’s Real Estate Division.  AssetWorks’ Enterprise Asset Management system, AiM™, provides the Port with a comprehensive business solution that is web based, database independent, compatible with Real Simple Syndication, and includes functionality to view complex architectural and engineering drawings/documents.

“To be part of a solution that means enhanced proficiency and savings for one of North America’s leading seaports is exciting,” said Ken Slaughter, Senior Vice President of AssetWorks. “We are very pleased that the Port of Los Angeles has chosen us to provide a solution that addresses their asset management needs.”
