University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to Implement New Facilities & Services Business System
(Wayne, PA – May 6, 2009) AssetWorks, a leading provider of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software solutions, announced that it has signed a facilities management software and implementation services contract with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
Originally chartered in 1867 as the Illinois Industrial University, UIUC is a public research university that now serves more than 40,000 students with 16 colleges and instructional units spread across 7.7 square miles. The Facilities & Services (F&S) administrative unit maintains more than 550 buildings and provides construction planning and services, custodial services, parking, engineering, printing, car rental, mailing, equipment and supply acquisition, central receiving, storage and delivery, and utility services to the UIUC campus.
AssetWorks was selected to replace the existing systems currently used by F&S and to provide appropriate interfaces to the existing University of Illinois systems of record. The new system supplies industry standard functionality for the planning, control, management and reporting related to effective management of the physical assets and services provided by F&S. The AssetWorks system provides the application structure to allow F&S to marshal its people, space and equipment and efficiently use the accepted industry best practices to provide the services and control to University customers.
“We are looking forward to serving the UIUC community with great enthusiasm,” said Ken Slaughter, Senior Vice President of AssetWorks. “We understand UIUC’s business platform and related IT requirements, and are pleased that we could provide a solution to meet their needs. AssetWorks is dedicated to working closely with UIUC, as with all our customers, to provide the tools they need to reach their goals and continue experiencing success."
