E.ON U.S., Owner of Louisville Gas & Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company, Deploys AssetWorks Fleet Management Software Hosting Services
(Wayne, PA -- February 10, 2009) AssetWorks, a leading provider of fleet Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software and Automated Fuel Systems, announced today that E.ON U.S. (EON) has launched their existing FleetFocus Fleet Maintenance Management software in AssetWorks' ASP Hosted Services Environment.
EON is a diversified energy services company that owns and operates Louisville Gas and Electric Company, a regulated utility that serves 318,000 natural gas and 390,000 electric customers in Louisville and 16 surrounding counties, and Kentucky Utilities Company, a regulated electric utility in Lexington, Kentucky, U.S.A., that serves 518,000 customers in 77 Kentucky counties and five counties in Virginia. The Transportation Services of EON plans and coordinates the repair, maintenance, and refueling of a fleet of over 2300 vehicles.
EON has been a FleetFocus customer for 17 years. The Transportation Services division relied heavily on FleetFocus' ability to track equipment costs, utilization, fleet replacement, activity-based costs, comeback rate by technician, parent-child unit cost tracking and even employee performance. All this information had been stored on and operated off EON's existing mainframe. When this mainframe was being retired, they sought a solution that would allow them to continue using the same fleet management software without skipping a beat in fleet operations. AssetWorks' Hosted Services Environment solved this challenge for EON.
"The primary reason that we chose the ASP plan was to allow us to get off of our mainframe so the company can retire it. The cost savings were achieved by reducing the need for internal IT support, in-house mainframe maintenance cost and all of the associated training expenses and learning curve," stated Steve Ramser, Contract Manager, EON.
AssetWorks has proven expertise in providing strategy and execution of single and multiple server environments based on extensive hosting experience. AssetWorks' staff manages multiple upgrade, development, and production environments for more than 55 diverse organizations, including both public and private sector companies. AssetWorks' ASP hosting experience extends from small local governments with fewer than 500 equipment units and a single user, to many large enterprise implementations with more than 1,500 users.
AssetWorks can help companies reduce their fleet expenditures with integrated fleet solutions that allow them to streamline maintenance processes, be proactive with preventive maintenance and track costs from inventory to labor. In addition, AssetWorks' fully integrated fuel solutions can help organizations improve accountability for all metered or pulsed consumables. AssetWorks blends these software solutions with services such as the ASP Hosted Services Environment to help organizations better manage the total cost of ownership for their fleet.
